Admission Arrangements
2023-2024
The process for admitting your child to our fantastic school depends on the year they will start. For children who want to start during this academic year, the first thing you should do is contact our school office, on 01254 886110, to arrange to speak with Mr Kennedy to see if there's space in the class you require. If there is space, it's advisable to have a look round our school. Once you've decided a move is in your child's best interests and we have a place available, the in-year admissions process begins. Our school office will contact you to gather all the relevant in-year admissions information required. A date will then be agreed between your child's current school and St. Charles.
Where a place cannot be secured, parents will be offered a legal right of appeal to an independent appeal panel. Lancashire County Council administers the appeals process on behalf of the school. Parents can complete the school’s appeal form on Lancashire County Council’s website (see below).
Parents were notified in April 2023 as to whether they got a place to start in our Reception class in September 2023. If you missed the application process, you will need to contact the Pupil Access Team on 01254 220747 and they will be able to advise you. If you are not happy with the place you have been offered for this academic year, please contact the Pupil Access Team on the number above.
If you weren't awarded a place at our school and would like to request a place, please contact the school office to see if any places are available. You may need to go through the appeals process if our new intake is over-subscribed. The appeals process is online and more information can be found on the LCC Website (see link below). Please contact the school office should you have any queries about this. A copy of the admissions policy for this academic year can be found above.
2024-2025
Admissions for children who turn 4 from September 2023 onwards opens on 1st September 2023. All parents applying for a place for their child will need to complete an online application form. This is available by clicking on the link below. The admissions policy for the 2024-2025 academic year can be found at the top of this page. If your child is a baptised catholic and you would like this acknowledged during the ranking process, you must fill out a Supplementary Information Form available from the school office or by clicking on the link below. Failure to complete this form will result in your child not being placed in the baptised catholic category.
